Why pre-register for a group of classes, instead of dropping in?
I love that the structure of pre-registration allows me to have a fairly good idea of whom to expect each week, and to design classes with awareness of the particular needs of each person who’s registered. I’ve also found my students enjoy the feeling of connection and ease they have in a group that’s familiar and fairly consistent; the structure builds a sense of comfortable community. Finally, my students tell me that being pre-registered for a series of classes is a boost to their own regular commitment to attend, helping them past the inevitable inertia of their usual routine, encouraging them, instead, to show up and to experience the “ahhhhhh” of getting to the studio, and onto their mat.
